COVID-19 TLSP School Policy
All children will be dropped and picked up from the school front office . It is a mandatory requirement for all staff & parents to wear face masks before entering the premises . We are temporarily restricting parents from dropping the children in their classroom to reduce person to person contact .
We are practicing social distancing within our school & request parents to follow the same procedure within the premises and while dropping and picking up children at the door.
All Children above the age of 2 years are required to wear face masks or face shields inside the school.
Children will be screened twice a day for fever/temperature and sent home if they exhibit any signs of fever . Your child may return to school only after his or her temperature has been consistently below 100.0 degrees for a minimum of 24 hours and only with a doctor’s clearance note.
Children with cough, cold, runny nose, will also be sent home until the cold clears up completely or with a doctor’s note that explains it is not contagious.
Children exhibiting signs of respiratory distress or shortness of breath will also be sent home and can resume back only with a doctor’s clearance note.
Any children hospitalized for pneumonia or screened for virus/tested positive for virus can return back to school only with a doctor's note that says they are safe to be back in school and they are not contagious or carriers of the virus.
All School staff are daily screened for fever and any visual symptoms prior to starting their work day . All sick staff will be sent home until they recover and will be allowed to come back only with a doctor's clearance note.
Extra emphasis is being placed on disinfecting all school surfaces , playground and toys on a daily basis
Parents are encouraged to dress kids in full hand sleeves and full pants in order to cover maximum direct skin exposure to germs . At this time school uniforms are not mandatory until we get through this pandemic.
We are suspending all parent involved activities at school temporarily .(Birthday celebrations only for kids we will take pictures and share them with you)
Kids are being educated on good hygiene practices ( avoid touching eyes , nose or mouth, washing hands frequently ). We are increasing the frequency of bathroom breaks and frequent washing of hands for kids in order to avoid the spread of germs.
We are following CDC guidelines and keeping teacher child ratios in classroom based on those guidelines.
As a school, we are prepared for a range of possible contingencies, such as school closures, that may occur due to county/CDC regulations and guidelines. In the event that school must be dismissed for an extended period of time,we will provide you with clear, timely communications about this fluid situation. To prevent spread of germs in the school,
please use the following guidelines to determine whether or not to send your child to school:
Definitely keep your child at home if he or she has any of these symptoms:
Fever (100.0 degrees or greater… your child may return to school only after his or her temperature has been consistently below 100.0 degrees for a minimum of 48 hours)
Cough,Runny Nose, Cold
Diarrhea , upset stomach
Loss of taste or smell
Chills , Eyes are pink and crusty
Rash on body parts especially hand foot and mouth
Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
Inability to wake or stay awake
Bluish lips or face
General malaise or feelings of fatigue, weakness or muscle aches
Frequent congested (wet) or croupy cough , Wheezing
Puffy Red Watery Eyes
Swelling in Toes or any abnormal redness in toes
Come in contact with a person affected by the virus / travelled to a place CDC has put on high alert for transmission both domestic and international.
Any members of your family have tested positive to COVID-19 or awaiting test results please notify school immediately and stay home until doctor gives clearance .
There is no specific antiviral treatment recommended for COVID-19. People with COVID-19 should receive supportive care to help relieve symptoms. For severe cases, treatment should include care to support vital organ functions.
People who think they may have been exposed to COVID-19 should contact their healthcare provider immediately and the school needs to be notified immediately as well.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick or travelled to places that have reports of virus. We are doing our share and sterilizing toys and our school environment daily to keep it as safe as possible
